Mount Dora Golf Association Request for Offer

Please rest assured that the Golf Course is not for sale to developers in the sense people are assuming. The almost 13 acres that was originally offered for bids came with the condition that the purchaser would develop the 13 acres with Pickleball courts, tennis courts and some type of recreational center.

Since that request for offers was published, a Pickleball expert has "sized up" the property and determined that the 13 acres is not enough space to build the desired amount of courts and amenities. The Chairman of the Golf Association has offered more of the property to be available for purchase if it means attaining the desired amount of courts and facilities. But ONLY for this purpose.

It is my understanding that the City is not proposing that we sell this entire 80+ acre property.

I thank those of you that have reached out to me to get an accurate information as opposed to sharing the hearsay you may find on social media, etc. Unless I am asleep, I am for the most part at your disposal. Please email or call me with any questions or concerns and help me share accurate information to prevent the spread of false information that tends to upset our residents for no reason. If there is one thing I will always be it's upfront and honest (okay two things) about information I can pass along to you. If I don't know the answer, I will get it for you.
